Is there a problem getting Teva (50mcg)? My usual pharmacy says they can't get it although they can usually get brands which I ask them for and I've had Teva from them before. I've tried other local pharmacies. It may be just a matter of trying pharmacies further away.
I asked my usual pharmacy what brand they have (50mcg) and I was told 'Actavis'. According to helvella 's document Actavis was another name for Accord until 2019. Are they using up old stock? How long does levo keep?
I think if they said "Actavis" it is more likely a mistake. Mis-remembering they have changed.
Even in 2019 we were asking why they hadn't yet changed the branding. But levothyroxine products usually have a life of between one and three years - and that is around the world so far as I know. I'm pretty sure nny branded Actavis would be beyond their expiry date by now.
Just the other day, someone else said they were having issues getting 50 microgram Teva levothyroxine tablets.
It was a phone enquiry. I asked what brand they had for levo 50mcg. She went over to the shelf and came back and said it was Actavis which surprised me. She spelled it out and I wrote it down. I assumed that she'd read it from the box. I looked it up to find it, but I hadn't the nerve to ring back and ask for the expiry date, especially as I wasn't going to buy it.
My hunt for Teva continues. I was in hospital earlier this month. When I arrived they said that they had Teva, but I never saw any. I was given Accord from the meds trolley. When I was discharged they gave me Mercury Pharma, despite me asking for Teva.
