Hi again everyone โค๏ธ

You Trully can't make this stuff up.... I spoke to gp on Friday (as I posted) I told her I would try the T4 tables NOT the oral liquid solution as I vomited that back.

The pharmacy have just dropped my script off...... ITS ONLY THE ORAL LIQUID T4... ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ honestly who's running these Dr's surgery's ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก

Golly, that's outrageous, when you consider how cheap Levo tablets are.

In fact a bit more expensive than that for some strengths

Levothyroxine sodium 100micrograms/5ml oral solution sugar free

100ml bottle

ยฃ164.99

Levothyroxine sodium 125micrograms/5ml oral solution sugar free

100ml bottle

Wow I knew the liquid was more expensive but never realised how much more it costs. No wonder GP's are reluctant to prescribe it.

It has always been quite a bit more expensive that tablets, but this is ridiculous. Reminiscent of the T3 price hiking! ๐Ÿคฏ

Add in that 100ml is twenty doses (assuming one 5ml dose per day).

Whereas tablets are 28 doses in a pack.

Honestly... Why prescribe the oral when 1 it's very expensive 2 I said I'm better on the T4 because I can split them.. (this is just until I get the new appointment with another endocrinologist, because T4 both liquid and tablets give me gut issues as does the t3... Total waste of money.... I told her I vomited the liquid back... Why the heck would she prescribe a medication that I vomited on... ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ I'm definitely not taking it, as I remember the last 2 times ๐Ÿคฎ it was hell my stomach was on fire ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

I'll reply to you here so as not to hijack the other thread any further.

You need to contact your GP urgently to get what you require prescribed on an urgent basis.

You need something to take ASAP that you tolerate.

Spoke to a lady on the prescription line today, and told her I've had no thyroid medication for 4 days today, she as said she will pass the message over to the gp on call, honestly he probably won't have a clue๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ but unfortunately A, we can not just speak to a gp in my surgery, we have to keep ringing between 8.30am 9am in the hope we can get an appointment, or a phone call from a gp, it's a discusting arrangement ๐Ÿ˜ก

I think most GP surgeries are the same recently unfortunately.

All you can do is stress how urgent this is and that you need specific medicine that currently you don't posess to stay alive.

Keep trying and I know how trying it is!

Will do,โค๏ธ thank you for your kind advice.... Actually as I posted the other day, apparently the gp told the receptionist to tell me it was OK not to take thyroid medication, until she got the report back from the endo I saw in dec๐Ÿ˜ฒWhen I spoke to the very same gp, I asked that very question "is it OK to be without thyroid medication given I have no thyroid"

Her reply now... "absolutely not pleased do no do that"

Who are we supposed to believe eh๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก

Let me show you a picture speaks a thousand words ๐Ÿคก๐Ÿคก๐Ÿคก๐Ÿคก

I'm feeling particularly feisty today - I'm having bedding in problems with new doctor ๐Ÿ™„

I honestly think I could see her curl up and die when I showed her the diarrhoea photos, but I was coy.. As I showed her the T4 ๐Ÿ’ฉ photos first dates attached to photos as proof of when they were taken, she jumped on this... "that's the t3 doing that" ha!! No that's the T4... These are the t3 photos... See both are causing the gut issues ๐Ÿ˜‚.And she already knew this because as she stated, she'd seen me on numerous occasions about that very problem ๐Ÿ˜ก

I'm also a bit feisty today, especially more so when the gp sends the flipping wrong thyroid medication, and I've not had any thyroid meds for 4 days now๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก. Ho new doctor, you'd hope for some luck if there new, but that doesn't always go that way... Best of luck๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€

Guffaw Topsy!

He sounded far to young and nervous by the end of the call - anyway I'm married - to a very brave man (he had to be to take me on!) ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

I always used to smirk when someone said they were "under the doctor". Mind you, with one of them....

I take liquid levothyroxine and find it much easier to dose than any tablet form levothyroxine. As itโ€™s a liquid you can draw up the correct amount you specifically need. I draw 68mcg a day and with tablets thatโ€™s impossible. Itโ€™s 100% absorbed whereas tablets are less ( not sure on %). You donโ€™t have to avoid foods either like tablets. I take liquid as I have an absorption issue. It is very expensive compared to tablet form. If theyโ€™ve prescribed liquid for you you really are quite lucky really. Most donโ€™t contain any sugar and donโ€™t taste too bad Iโ€™ve found. My preferred brand now is Mercury Pharma since Wockhardt stopped production in 2022.

I've been on the liquid form twice, and vomited it back I relayed that information to the endocrinologist on both occasions, for some reason she just keeps trying to give me it.It was by far the worst on my stomach, it gave me awful acid wash back as soon as it hit my stomach I felt awful, certainly won't ever try it again, gave it a good go though twice.
