anetap4545,
Look into anal yeast infections (candida) medicalnewstoday.com/articl...
If this sounds feasible you will need to commit to a candida elimination program that targets the whole body as well as treating the local area.

You had thyroidectomy after Graves’ disease
Have you tried gluten free diet
3 months ago very under medicated with TSH of 4
Have you retested since increasing to 125mcg levothyroxine
Do you always get same brand Levo at each prescription
Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Have you had T3 added yet?
Typically starting on just 5mcg (1/4 tablet)
Slowly increasing to 2 doses per day
On T3 - day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day with last dose 8-12 hours before test
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins
Testing options and includes money off codes for private testing

Hi anetap4545,
If it is threadworms they can cause much itching but they're easily treated. Just speak with your GP though think you can also buy OTC treatment (but not 100% sure of that)
Another condition that can cause intense itching at nighttime is Lichen Sclerosis. Have a look online and see if your symptoms are similar. The itching with that can be really awful (I've just been diagnosed with it)
Hope you find some answers soon.
Is your itching sometimes all day? How we were diagnosed?
Hi Contra21,
I realised myself what my problem could be so was diagnosed by a GP then officially 'confirmed' by a dermatologist after I was referred.
Sometimes it is afternoon and evening if I feel hot or getting flustered but usually mostly night time very itchy and sore.
Saw a dr and a derm but they haven't said anything. Wonder what Lt is I've seen every dr and specialist with just you have pruitis ani 🤔
Hi Contra,
I don't know where you are in Australia but just found this site
thewomens.org.au/health-inf...
It describes what LS is and the usual symptoms.
Did they give you any cream ? was in in the rectum.too?
Yes for the Lichen Sclerosis? I'm prescribed a steroid cream that I apply at night time. Some itching on both bum cheeks but not in rectum thankfully. Struggling to use the cream as I'm always hot and don't like feeling greasy but I have to as the itching is awful.
Between bum cheeks?
Yes not a pleasant experience; the itching is awful 😐 Worse evening and at night.
you can also buy OTC treatment (but not 100% sure of that)
Yes, that is true - no prescription required. The standard product is called Ovex. It comes in single dose or 4 dose packets.
We don't have that here in Australia but have tried other and nothing.
You might be able to find this :
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meben...
It's the active ingredient in Ovex.
