Timing of blood test

Is it possible for advice on a blood test I have at 11.30 am tomorrow. I am unable to get an earlier one. Would it be okay for this one time as long as I don’t take the thyroxine tablet and no food beforehand?

I am having quite bad palpitations and did not want to wait until next Thursday which is the next 9 am appointment.

At 11.30 your TSH will be nearing its lowest point, so you won't be able to compair it with previous tests done earlier. Plus doctors only tend to look at the TSH, so there might be a problem if it's below range. Do you know if they're testing anything else?

Yes they are testing T3 and T4 also.

TSH in A & E on Tuesday taken at 6.30 pm was 2.2 (up from 0.79 five weeks ago at 9am). T3 or T4 not tested in A & E.

Also, have tried a new brand from Tuesday am. Is it better to revert back until blood test and will the change affect results?

Really you need same dose and brand levothyroxine 6-8 weeks before test

Which brand levothyroxine were you taking

Which brand have you changed to

How much levothyroxine

What vitamin supplements are you taking

Important to test vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin too
