I know that a slow Achilles reflex can be a symptom of hypothyroidism.
It’s not something I had ever thought about until I was diagnosed six months ago with a TSH of 42. I’ve since then improved in some ways. Anyway, quite recently I heard about the Achilles reflex and discovered that in my case, the reflex is absent, it just isn’t there. I wonder if this applies to others on this forum and does anybody know if the reflex can ever return?

Thank you for this, it’s quite fascinating and once again I am reminded of the fact that the thyroid affects all of the body. It was also interesting to learn that there are others like me with a completely absent reflex, which apparently can return in time.
