TT means should function correctly? I'm CT which is a bit wonky and I think CC is proper wonky

There's a children's book by Craig Smith called The Wonky Donkey. Obvs it's all about you!

Are you struggling converting T4? Were you hoping to trial T3?

p.s it's dio2 🤗

Joeybobs,

You have a wild type genotype (TT) which is the most common and indicates a less probability of conversion problems involving DIO2.

Some members hope/succeed in securing a T3 prescription with evidence of a DIO2 impairment but remember even without there are numerous others involved that will determine how well you utilise thyroid hormone and in particular which thyroid hormone meds.

Hi, I have the rs 225014 but CC so seems I am properly wonky. Despite this my GP refuses to concede there is any thyroid issue so I self treat and now feel better than I used to. Hope everything works out for you. Regards

Being that wonky if you can get a referral to the NHS Endo you should be able to get it prescribed 🤗 wouldn't mean anything to a GP

Hi Eyeore100, I thought that too and asked for a referral which was agreed. However it was a paper based request from GP to endo but prepared by a clinical assistant at the surgery. I have a copy of it. It does not mention the years I had been trying to get anyone at the surgery to take me seriously, nor did it mention previous under active results/family history (mother and sibling). No wonder the endo wrote back to the surgery saying they couldn't understand why at my age I was suddenly worried about a thyroid issue, it went onto add that since the Dio2 test was not done at an NHS lab it could be ignored! So I never got to explain anything to the endo in person, maybe at my age they just think I no longer matter. Of course you will understand that there was rather a long drawn out wait after I asked for copies of the letters but got them eventually. I'm sad to say when NHS crops up I think some of it is truly wonderful but in my surgery it stands for the no help service.Regards

I have just done this test and am waiting for results. When they come in I have to have a consultant receive them as they won`t give them directly to me. They provide a telephone consultant for £65, I had no choice but pay it as I had already paid for the test. The company is Regenerus Labs and it cost me £92 (plus the £65), results in 27 days! So how did you manage to get your results?

I got them to send the result to my GP which doesn't cost anything

My gp wouldn’t know what it is even. And he’d start looking in my notes (new doc, new area) and that’s another story.

Mine didn't either, like you say best if they ignore it but I was able to get the receptionist to print a copy off for me 😉
