Postpartum headaches

Hi all, haven’t posted in a while. I recently had my second child (10 weeks ago) and have been getting searing headaches for about 5 weeks. They are daily and come and go throughout the day, mainly on one side, but sort of all over. They remind me of the headaches I got when I first started taking Levo. I just got my bloodwork’s back and it looks like my TSH is slightly low and my T4 slightly high, could the pregnancy of affected my hashimotos and I’m over medicated?

Did your levo get increased when you were pregnant? You my now need to go back to your previous dose.

Exactly what were your thyroid results, with refernce ranges.

Did you remember to test at 9am, fasting with last Levo dose 24 hour before blood test?

Recommended blood test protocol: Test at 9am (or as close as possible), fasting, last levo dose 24hrs before the blood draw, last T3 dose 8-12 hours before blood draw & no biotin containing supplements for 3-7 days (Biotin can interfere with thyroid blood results as it is used in the testing process)? Testing like this gives consistency in your results and will show stable blood levels of hormone and highest TSH which varies throughout the day. Taking Levo/T3 just prior to blood draw can show a falsly elevated result and your GP/Endo might change your dose incorrectly as a result.

What supplements are you taking?

What are you most recent results for ferritin, folate, B12 & D3.

Congratulations on baby.

Firstly congratulations on baby news! 🎉 You made a human, aren’t bodies clever, it’s awesome…😇

I had these post partum too, unmedicated Hashi at the time and I could lose a kilo or two overnight. On reflection from my own experiences and comparing yours I think there could be a link to high FT4 best to check levels and adjust accordingly, mine resolved as I went more hypo within a few months of birth.

My babies are now 21 and 19, I’m sure you have heard but enjoy every minute, they are driving their own cars before you know it 🤗
