Trouble received reply’s.

I can’t receive my reply’s. What’s gone wrong. It came up unsaved changes which impressed on. What’s happened. I pressed Ok..

Oh it is easily done to lose stuff in the techno cloud and not find the button you need to press. And then as if by magic when you look again TA-DA it is so obvious.Be kind to yourself. Sometimes we just need to be.

More hugs and cuddles today. You mustn’t let horrible people get to you - I know it’s hard as I have had it happen to me as have many others. No-one deserves to be treated badly particularly by those in a ‘caring’ profession.

But we are made of strong stuff so hang in there and mentally tell them to stick their appalling attitude where the sun don’t shine. Remember we reap what we sow and their dreadful behaviour will one day bite them.

Meanwhile focus on the lovely peoples in this group - here’s a pic of my donkeys!

Hi Meerkat, tattyboggle, eeyore and rads

These guys came to us Christmas 2012, mum and son. Both were emaciated with ribs showing. Scabs and sores all over their ears and face, overgrown hooves, infected eyes and stomach worms. Terrified of people.

Rosie is the mum, she had a young jack (son) we call Oaty. He was still feeding off his thin mum. Oaty was too weak to walk up the ramp of the horsebox and was paralysed with fear. My hubby carried him in.

Their story of recovery is one for us all. Long and slow. I gradually got them back to weight with four small meals a day. They would not come near me when I put out their food and stood watching me fearfully as I also collected their poo (poo picked!). They made no sound no braying or calling just white eyed with fear.

I had pigs too at that time and I used to feed the donkeys first instead of the pigs as I used to before I rescued the donkeys. One day about 4 months after the donkeys were with us, I was later than usual doing my feed round. The pigs were not happy! They flipped the food bowl up in the air out of my hands and I went skidding in the mud on my bum. Well, the donkeys laughed and laughed, braying so loudly I was almost deafened.

I went up to their gate and Rosie and Oaty walked up to me and placed their muzzles on my shoulders and we’ve been mates ever since.

The vet can now vet them and they are relaxed even when they have their teeth done. Feet are still a challenge for Oaty as we had a horrible farrier (like Meerkat’s psycho psychiatrist) and so now we have to do lots of regaining of trust to do his back feet. Small steps. It’s taken 11 years but they are both now almost fully recovered physically and mentally.

They have helped me get through this difficult period of my life as I think if a donkey can recover from such a low place in its life then so can I! I poo pick twice a day and do their feed twice as they are on restricted grazing to avoid laminitis and brush them and pick out hooves ( which terrifies me more than self injecting!!). They are my reason to get out of bed and some days I get out of bed only to tend them. I have sheep too but they don’t need daily tending by me.

Meerkat, I hope I have not hijacked your post. But just to show how we must not let horrible uncaring people win and we will recover. Onwards and upwards to us all!

That is the funniest story when the donkeys laughed. Pleased you and your hubby nursed them back to health. Thank you for sharing this with me, it has given me a laugh. You are right we must not let horribly uncaring people win. We will recover just like your donkeys. Take Care all of you. 🥰🤗🤗🤗🤗
