Hello peeps. I have recently between 1&2 months ago increased my levothyroxine from 75mg to 100mg.Thing is I've started having days where I'm extremely high and very excitable (euphoric) followed by very low days (feel sad & tearful) and exhaustion.
The low mood days take me by surprise almost and it's upsetting.
I seem to be having trouble getting to sleep too and this results in me sleeping longer.
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated as this is one emotional roller coaster.

Hi, yes it was increased by 25mg from 75 to 100.Thing is when I was in 75mg I was feeling out of sorts then too, not everyday but I'd feel low and it would be out of the blue.
So I requested a test from gp, took advice from this forum and fasted etc. Results came back that I was in need of more so they increased by 25 to 100.
If you have some 25mcg tablets and you got on OK with that brand, then cut them in half. I think there is one brand of 12.5mcg but it is very expensive and doubtful that any GP would want to prescribe them.
Bloods retested after 8 weeks that was 2 weeks ago and I've not heard from gp which indicates things are now good apparently 🤷♂️Vitamins I take are as follows

ALWAYS get actual results and ranges
You are legally entitled to printed copies of your blood test results and ranges.
The best way to get access to current and historic blood test results is to register for online access to your medical record and blood test results
UK GP practices are supposed to offer everyone online access for blood test results. Ring and ask if this is available and apply to do so if possible, if it is you may need "enhanced access" to see blood results.
Hi SlowDragon,Wow! That's a lot of information and it's much appreciated.
I will attempt to get online access to my results.
I did present my GP with my list as suggested here prior to my blood test and she categorically told me Vit D wasn't tested here in Scotland as it was assumed everyone would be getting enough from food additives or be taking a supplement.
I must check my multi vitamins and also my for Iron & iodine.
Thanks for the heads up on Vitamin B too.
My surgery really don't appear to be very switched on with regards to Thyroid although my new and current GP seems open to chatting about it etc.
Okay so I have just read info on my multi vitamins
You can read profiles of many regular posters/members
you will see current understanding and treatment of thyroid conditions is woefully inadequate ….hence this is by far the busiest forum with over 132,000 members
First step is ALWAYS to get FULL thyroid and vitamin testing done
When you say full thyroid and vitamin test I'm guessing you're referring to a private lab or something? As my GPs will not entertain me telling them what's required.
Yes it would be private testing. Sadly we have to do it ourselves if we want it all done regularly.
Shop around as some are more expensive than others. SD has given you links to all the main sites we all use. Very reliable.
I haven’t used Blue Horizon, I alternate between Medichecks and monitor my health depending on what needs testing.
Ensure you try thyroiduk10 for offer code and also if Medichecks sign up for newsletters they regularly have 20% off and you can hold onto the test kit for months x
