wrong dose …

For nine days I have been taking 25 mcg of Eltroxin rather than 100 mcg. I have no idea how it happened.

What might the effect be and can I start taking my 100 mcg again tomorrow morning?

I feel like such an idiot. I don’t understand how I didn’t notice.

Thank you!

I’d say it’s fine just to resume normal dose from tomorrow again.Don’t take any extra to compensate for the mcg’s you missed.

Thank you! I’ll do that.

this happened to me years ago when pills were counted dispensed into bottles - not packs.

Just resume your normal dose from now .

Thank you! I took my usual dose this morning. Did you have any effects of taking a low dose for a few days? I can't imagine anything untoward!

well, I actually took the 25s when I thought I was taking 100s for probably a couple of weeks and, feeling rubbish, I looked at my meds and realised that Boots had dispensed different tablets - they must have been short of 100s - nothing was said to me when handed over - and I had wrongly assumed what I had been given was as it always had been - big lesson!

I felt better within a couple of weeks of resuming the correct dose - no other issues.

🙂. Hope you feel well

Thank you - it’s incredible they did that and didn’t say anything. At least you checked and got it sorted.

i know! 😊. Couldn’t happen now as they are not dispensed loose any more i don’t think. Even so, its a very easy mistake to make: they are almost impossible to distinguish at a glance.

Times have changed a lot since those days!

Mine come in coloured packets - a different colour for each packet. I do it in the dark though so didn’t see it wasn’t the right colour. If I drop them, I can’t see which pill is which.

Easy to do 😂

It’s easily done. I made a similar but different error (not thyroid meds) a couple of years back…for three weeks!

I have never done it before! There’s definitely a lesson I have learned!

Hopefully you didn’t suffer any ill effects.
