Niacin

Hi there I had a Niacin flush on Jarrow b right vit bs so thought it might help if I swapped to Vitablossom hoping that might be better! But had flush again last night! Would anyone have a recommendation for good B vit’s without the Niacin.

Niacin (aka Vit B3) is the generic name for several forms. Niacin sold as ‘flush-free’ is usually combined with inositol. It works by lengthening the time niacin is broken down in the body.

The other alternative is nicotinamide (aka niacinamide). This is a different form of niacin with greater bioavailability, meaning it is more easily utilised by the body and misses the metabolising step where flushing may occur.

Vitablossom B Complex contains 'niacin' which indicates the cheaper form. Look out for brands that stipulate niacin is in 'nicotinamide' form.
