New cortisol results

Well, that was unexpected but I guess shows that my adrenals work! 😂 Unfortunately, probably due to the lack of caffeine I had a migraine all day and a nap about 6pm so the results will be skewed I expect.

But at least I can now rule out any real issues and focus on support.

Interesting to compare, seems likely that a migraine would raise the levels?

You would hope that once you find your optimal thyroid dose then your adrenals will be in a good place 🤗

I hope so!

I realised this morning that for the first time in as long as I can remember I woke up without any anxiety. 90 minutes on and I still don't have any signs of it.

It's Bloody fantastic!

Brilliant 🤗 you're on the up girl 💃

in reply toTiggerMe

I hope so. 🤞🏼

I'm still definitely on the rollercoaster so I'll just enjoy the good days as they come for now.

Because if you'd spoken to me last week I'd have told you about how I was considering running away because my family deserve more than a useless burden like me and I was crying every day and unable to even play cars with my son because I was so tired.

Thyroid disease is a total *insert choice expletive here *.

Oh mate, that is rubbish... it does have the ability to steal joy from your life...

Always remember no matter how useless you feel even if you are just a lump on the sofa you are their lump on the sofa and very much loved 🤗

(and a little bit our lump too) 😏

Thanks Eeyore. ♥️ I honestly don't have the words to express my gratitude but I just don't know where I'd be without this forum. It has been truly life-saving and is helping get this sofa lump back to life!

It was a dreadful week but this one is better. :)

Witchinghour,

Great news!

Mine where so low for many years and now normalised. DHEA now normal too. Everything normal 😁. It is amazing how the adrenals do bounce back given the right conditions. It sounds like these results have given you confidence that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Only positive onwards and upwards now ....

I'm loving my Zoe program as has really injected some interest in foods again. How is your's going?

in reply toradd

I had requested DHEA to be run too but doesn't look like it has been which is a shame as it would've been nice to compare.

Yes, hopeful again is right. and hopeful that I'm getting well rather than hopeful I-might-find-something-else-wrong-that-would-explain-why-I-feel-so-dreadful-all-the-time-because-at-least-then-I-can-treat-it. So that's good. :D

I went right off the boil with Zoe which is such a shame because my 6 months is up. I would like to try again but while I *know* I feel and do better eating the zoe way, food and cooking doesn't come easily to me (my husband commented once when he first moved in that my meals only ever consisted of 2 ingredients. i.e. Sausage and mash🤣) and I've just not had the headspace. Then introducing gluten free and dairy free... It all got too complicated.

I am VERY excited about the gut health re-testing that's becoming available though. That will be brilliant to be able to check progress.

I'm still in two minds about Zoe as there are so many things I avoid and like Witchy have lost interest in food, just sticking with the safe stuff for now... thinking I might give it ago in the autumn, especially if they have bought in the new microbiome testing by then

Eeyore,

Yes, I would say it definitely demands enough headspace and time to commit and digest.

It’s going a bit slow for me as it’s the food combining part I’m most interested in and haven’t reached that stage yet. Also I found the app quite complicated as there’s so much info in there but am mastering it now and am back to menu planning as I used to but now with better foods.

I'm going hippie this summer, free and easy back to hypo school for autumn term 🙃

Glad the HRT tweaks are working out, isn't it lovely when you wake up without the cloud for a change... I'm loving the HC effect it has given me some energy! Woohoo

Did you once say DHEA via blood is more accurate than saliva?

Haha, just about to reply to you.

Blood tests the bound and free. Saliva tests only the free so is thought more useful in functional medicine. (My result was blood as through endo/GP).

You previously had high DHEA so hopefully it should start 'normalising' with the raise in cortisol. If I was you I wouldn't test DHEA blood or saliva as you are feeling well and looking ahead. Just be confident things are on the improve.

My mental health was previously shattered after psychosis and I've had my ups and downs since but a recent introduction of testosterone and doubling up progesterone has positively changed my whole thought pattern and mood again. I hope you get HRT soon to help maintain your good mood.

Zoe has shown me I don't need to add meat protein to all meals as I get enough in plants (I was previously obsessed as protein helped make my T3 meds work better when first introduced). Also amazed how much bread brings the Zoe scores down, so no more brie and bacon toasties for me. No wonder people lose weight 🤣

Oh that's a shame! I ordered DHEA with my saliva test but apparently it will be done with my bloods. 🙄 Here I was hopeful Itd be a mistake in my favour. 😂

Yes, I hope I get HRT soon too. I'm so glad to hear you've had improvements. I always think of you as 100% back to health so it seems funny to hear!

I really did love tracking my food and seeing how much of each macro I was getting a day and the correlations in my health but as my health dipped and I was tracking more and more days of 30 or less I got demoralised.

Brie and bacon sandwiches are the best! I miss them too!!
