Latest Endo visit.... bit weird πŸ˜• When all seems lost just say NO πŸ˜‰

Started with being told I would have to drop my dose as not happy with TSH 0.05 talked all about this (T4 48% T3 95%) risk of heart and bone damage blah blah..... I pointed out that we had tried that before and it didn't go well for me... threatened to cut me loose if I didn't reduce!

Continued to bang on about it... said 'it sounded more like chronic fatigue and I was probably suffering from Covid after effects, nothing to do with my thyroid'... but I've never had covid... 'well, how do you know?'

Spoke about serum cortisol 9am 270 'normal' wouldn't acknowledge saliva test

I requested an adrenal test... 'oh, ok I'll set that up' πŸ˜…

Next thing, incoming private phone call... ushered out the door 'here take this bloods request for 4 months time... I'll leave you on the same dose...Bye'

Called me on the way home apologetic and nice as pie, said it would be written up that I accepted the risk and happy to proceed under this basis πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ™ƒ

Isn't it always the patient that runs the risk with whatever treatment is given or more often withheld?!

I understand they are busy people with a life that demands attention but it's a funny old game we have to play ain't it

So all in all a good result πŸ˜€πŸ’«Just have to stand your ground !

Well done again, bloody el it's a battle and half.

I remember my Endo also saying these symptoms are not all just Thyroid related. Well investigate then huh. And aswel I accept the risk, told him being able to function without feeling like a zombie in the now is my concern.. πŸ€”

My appointment is first week in June, god help me! πŸ˜• my TSH is still 00.1 I will be asking for adrenal test aswel as a 5mcg increase. I don't think I will be quite as on the ball as you.

You are safe for another few months, whoop.. πŸ€—πŸŽ‰

I thought I'd be booking a Private Endo the way it started and then a total U turn πŸ€·β€β™€οΈit seems they are all pre-set to drop your dose regardless.... I didn't really get much of a word in but just refused in the right places πŸ€— Your TSH is much higher than mine 🀣

Yeh I can imagine, thank goodness it turned out πŸ€— I'm expecting that drop dose attitude too, they can do one I'm am definitely not good.

Goodness that was a bit weird wasn’t it! Like you say - a good result but it came about in a very odd sort of way. Fancy calling you on your way home!

That's another 6 months without that nonsense to worry about at least πŸ€—

Just say NO πŸ˜… simples

That's what I'm always telling people: just say no. Had one doctor wanted to drop my dose when my TSH was 0.4 - i.e. within range. He said 'oh dear! we've gone too far!' (speak for yourself, doctor buddy!) I said no. He tried to mansplain to me how it worked - got it all wrong, of course. I just kept saying no. After about the fiftieth no he said 'oh, well, have it your way!' And that was the end of that. lol

I listened and channelled you GG πŸ€—

It is crazy isn't it, they try various flawed arguments and explanations that they've obviously spieled off many times.... but you just let them get it off their chest and then politely say NO πŸ™ƒ they don't have a comeback...

Bit like dealing with a politician who spiels off nonsense but won't answer pertinent questions!

Exactly like politicians - and all the other know-it-alls that know nothing!

I have only visited an endo twice after my thyroidectomy and yes it's weird. The first one was useless and the second one never knew what vitamin d was and had to look on her computer.

Its very inexpensive to visit an endo in France but they are still useless. My GP is very easy going I get greeted with a song (yes he is weird) he lets me have what I request so that's great. I never have to battle which is great. I just do my own thing.
