I increased my levo from 125 to 137.5 just over 3 weeks ago. My symptoms were extreme tiredness, dizziness, feeling weak (legs), stiff neck, headaches, feeling cold …
I ‘m a bit better, I ‘m still tired but not as much.Headaches are better. But I still feel weak and the dizziness is still there ( even if it’s marginally better).
This morning, I did some house cleaning, not that much…and I felt dizzy and weak. Is it normal ? I get really anxious… I don’t want to go out anymore…
Do I need to be more patient ? I was hoping to be much better by now after increasing my levo..
Please kindly let me know what you think? Thank you.

It can take up to 6 weeks to feel the benefit of a dose increase, your levels have probably not yet settled so it could still be early days. Some people do feel worse before they feel better when increasing. Finding the optimal dose can be a long, slow journey.
Thank you for your reply. Sometimes I feel like I’m never to get better. There are so many setbacks. I will do a blood test in 3 weeks. I try to stay positive but it does get me down.
Sorry to bother you again, but I’m getting really stressed the last few days. I feel really weak and the dizziness is quite constant. I feel like a mad woman. It does scare me. Can dizziness lasts that long, it has been a couple of months…Can Hashimoto’s do that? My mind is going into dark places… I’m probably an idiot to ask this….but I don’t understand why I got this symptom the last few weeks and why it doesn’t go away. Sorry again about my rambling.
I don't have Hashi's so no personal experience to draw on, but there can be a few reasons for dizziness, have you seen your GP about it, got ears checked, etc. Wjen I had dizziness it turned out to be BPPV - Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo - which was sorted with the Epley Manoeuvre.
I haven’t spoken to my GP. She is not great. Maybe I should. I don’t know how to explain it very well… I feel so low that I don’t want to see anybody, I know it’s not logical. Anxiety makes everything worse…Thank you for replying.
Nath27, the symptoms you describe could also be caused by excess T4 (i.e. over medication). If you add in more info here about what your full thyroid test results were before you increased your levo, members will be better able to offer their thoughts.
Thank you for your reply. I posted my results 4 weeks ago. My T3 was about 41% through range and T4 was 51%. I tried to re-post my results but I have an issue with my laptop, sorry.
Your TSH suggests that you are over medicated. Not sure why they would suggest an increase when you are over medicated with suppressed TSH? Was this the result before you increased your dose?
maybe not then?? Might be worth a try to get your bloods done 2hrs after you have ingested your medications. To see where the levels can get to. TSH is normally suppressed when you’ve taken too much over a period of time. It’s a good check.
