'accord rather than wockhartd '

Campy1967, Are you sure? Unless something has changed very recently, Wockhardt only make 25mcg levo, and Accord don't make 25mcg levo.

Dr changed me from 25mcg to 50mcg .

Accord's UK website clearly has only 50 and 100 microgram levothyroxine tablets.

accord-healthcare-products....

And Wockhardt in the UK only has 25 microgram levothyroxine tablets.

wockhardt.co.uk/medicines/h...

Unless the prescription has been changed (e.g. from 2 * 25 to a single 50), I agree it doesn't seem to make sense.

Sorry my bad Dr Changed me to 50mcg.

Which is why you've had a change of brand. If you wanted to stay on Wockhardt, you would need to ask for prescription to say 2 x 25mcg daily, instead of 1 x 50mcg daily.

Hi, I found I had difficulties when the brand changed at my local chemist. The doctor claimed it should make no difference but a friend who worked in the chemist said it can because the mixers they use in the tablet might affect how you absorb it in your body. I was on Teva duing lockdown and after a while found that they were great but my energy levels were up ad down. Once I was back on Accord I have found my levels are much more consistent. With Teva I would have days of high energy but then slumps. Apparently the chemist has a nickname for those who prefer Tevo they are called Tevo Divas 😆 I highly recommend Accord - hope it works for you. I'm on 100mcgs daily.

Hello, I've just been switched to accord from aristo 5 days ago and am now getting numbness (Dr thinks it is peripheral neuropathy) in my feet which is progressively getting worse. Have switched back onto Aristo today in the hope it sorts it. I have never been in a consistent brand or had any trouble switching between brands until now. This is the first time I have taken accord.anyone else having problems with accord?

I do better on Accord. Teva I had some bad reactions and doctor told me to stop. You can request a specific brand that you feel suits.

I think Accord is Teva? (Or vice versa) anyway I know a number dont like this brand however I tolerate them well. When i was given a different brand I got really bad headaches with them

Nope ....Accord boxes never contain Teva tablets.

"Northstar "boxes contain Accord tablets for the 50mcg and 100mcg sizes ,

but they contain Teva tablets for the 25mcg size.

(Because 'Northstar' are not a manufacturer , they don't make any tablets of their own , they just package other peoples tablets for sale in certain chemist chains )

If it says Accord on the box , it always has Accord in the box .. and if it says Teva on the box , it always has Teva in the box.

And it should no longer be an issue because Northstar have stopped getting 'own-label supplier' levothyroxine.

I can't be sure no-one will get any remaining packets, of course. But it should not happen in future.

I've been having Wockhardt 25mcg for ages and today the chemist (Jardines) told me they're having problems getting that brand. They didn't say why.
