Just testing TSH and Ft4 is inadequate

There’s no Ft3, vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 results

When were vitamin levels last tested

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Was this blood test done early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

How much levothyroxine are you currently taking

Always same brand at each prescription

I believe they were tested at the hospital in November but doctors said they didn’t have those results. Blood test was done 11:40 and I had taken my levo first thing that morning. I’m currently taking 125 of levo. Brands sometimes vary. I feel like my doctors don’t understand or don’t specialise in thyroid issues.

In future always book 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

TSH would have been higher at 9am

And Ft4 a lot lower if last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Obviously most important result is Ft3 and wasn’t tested

How do you feel

Exactly what vitamin supplements are you currently taking

we need good vitamin levels for good conversion of Ft4 (levothyroxine) to Ft3 (active hormone)

Strongly recommend getting full thyroid and vitamin testing done including thyroid antibodies if not been tested

Assuming you have high thyroid antibodies (hashimoto’s)

Are you on dairy free or gluten free diet?

honestly I’ve been feeling irritable and tired lately. The last I felt like this my dose of levo was raised, this time the Doctor commented on my results saying they were ok and within range. I take folic acid that was prescribed for me but nothing else. I’m not currently dairy or gluten free.

Your legally entitled to copies of all your results including those at hospital
