serum TSH level- O.34 mU/L. (0.27-4.20)

Serum free T4 level- 24.1 pmol/L (11.0-25.0)

these are my most recent results from the surgery. This is all they checked.

I am having so many symptoms of late and my gut is telling me it’s linked to my thyroid/medication. My symptoms seem to match those of over medication but equally since they reduced it last year symptoms started so not sure if I need more meds 💁 GP says it’s fine but there is room to reduce it slightly to see if it helps with symptoms like severe anxiety and all that comes with that. Feeling light headed, heart palpitations, armpit pain and they feel prickly to the point where I’ve broken the skin now, tingly arms, aching muscles, vision problems especially with right eye and generally feel very unwell. Can’t sleep and horrible dreams. They keep saying it’s anxiety (which it could be) but something is telling me it’s linked to thyroid. I had extremely dry eyes a month ago and optician thinks it’s linked to thyroid too. I’ve never had this problem before and taken 100mcg levo for years.

Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated…

You need FT3 tested as well, just testing TSH and FT4 isn't giving the full picture.

You said in your other post that you did a Medichecks test a couple of months ago and you posted those results in this previous thread:

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

I interpreted those results for you and explained that your conversion of T4 to T3 was poor as shown by high in range FT4 and low in range FT3; however, you never responded to my reply.

I think you'll find that your problem is connected to your poor conversion. You certainly don't need more Levo, it will take your FT4 over range.

Have you optimised you Folate, B12, Vit D etc to help with conversion?

in all honesty no I haven’t. Shall I take supplement for each of those do you think?

It depends what your current test results are, you may or may not need to supplement. Have you tested, if so please post your results along with their reference ranges, also please add units of measurment for Vit D and B12.

"end of October:

TSH: 1.46 (0.27-4.20)

FT3: 4.4 (3.1-6.8)35.14%

FT4: 21.3 (12-22) 93% "

" latest result from GP ( are these after the October ones ? .. if so ,TSH has fallen considerably which might indicate Levo dose is a little high)

TSH level- O.34 mU/L. (0.27-4.20)

Serum free T4 level- 24.1 pmol/L (11.0-25.0) 93% "

if TSH 0,34 is most recent , and given your symptoms , i'd maybe try reducing Levo a smidge for a couple of months . eg if you currently take 100mcg reduce to 85.7 mcg or 92.8mcg ..... as a 25mcg reduction can sometimes be too big (a couple of years after my overmedication episode, i then had to reduce again from 125mcg due to fT4 going way over range .. after some experimentation i found 112.5mcg was ok , but 100mcg was definitely too little. felt like a zombie... so went back to 112.5mcg... and my health has continued to improve since settled on that dose .

note ... when reducing i've found it can feel undermedicated and lead to constipation etc for the first couple of weeks , but give it proper chance and try it for at least 6 weeks .. often things start to gradually improve from week 4/5 .. i've had this when reducing slightly ,, but glad i stuck with it as after a few months on the lower dose it proved to be an improvement overall... amongst other things , i realised my sleep was better than it had been for a couple of years .

you can try this for yourself even if you just have 100mcg tablets. eg

cut a 100mcg in half and do 6 days @100mcg + 1 day @50mcg ~ works out at 650 / week = 92.8mcg /day

or 5 days @ 100mcg + 2 days @50mcg ~ works out at 600mcg / week = 85.7mcg / day .

(space the 50mcg days evenly over the week. don't do both next to each other)

obviously it's easier to do fine adjustments if you have some 25mcg tablets. then you can half them and take the same dose each day .. eg 50 + 25 + 12.5 = 87.5mcg day ... (or alternate 1 day 100mcg / 1 day 75mcg ~ gives same result .. some people can feel the difference between the higher an lower days and find it a bit unsettling .. some don't notice and are fine with alternate dosing)

(Just realised you might be taking less than 100mcg at the moment , but hope you get the idea cos i can't be arsed to do the maths again ~ it's silly-o-clock in the morning ~ lol)
