Hypothyroid and implant

I had to have a tooth pulled recently and am looking to have an implant put in. Research suggests no issues with the implant for people with hypothyroidism but there's nothing on how the extreme dental work might affect the thyroid?

In the process of researching this, I've found that even normal dental fillings can contribute to thyroid issues developing but basically the gist of it seems to be that any kind of stress (physical or emotional) can lead to thyroid issues.

Wondering if anyone here has had an implant and how everything went?

Hi Nutty, can I ask how long ago you had the implants and how sore it was afterwards?

hey Sam I’ve had them a couple of years ! Wasn’t sore at all ! The process took awhile waiting to make sure everything was ok when post was fitted no reaction etc ? But been fine !

I was debating whether to have an implant or a bridge for a bottom front crown that couldn’t be repaired after the root of my tooth cracked.

In the end I decided on a Maryland bridge, this was done just over 3 months ago now and I couldn’t be happier with it.

Certainly cheaper than an implant would have been.
