I have a quick question so that I can try to wrap my head around it. What is the science/logic inbetween a dose increase and waiting for 6 weeks for bloods?
I am in the process of finding my dose of armour. My Endo told me to increase to two grains after my last appointment and to take my bloods prior to this appointment. The timings worked out that I was only on two grains for three weeks when my bloods were taken. Would this have skewed them in any way?
I am slightly worried that my bloods showed my FT3 at 5.9 (3.1-6.8) which is great but still feeling very hypo. I know it’ll take time on the right dose but I have a lot of fear attached to a doctor who may cling to the numbers. I previously got well self dosing thyrogold and stupidly never did any bloods for reference. If this is my sweet spot would my bloods stay at that level or would they gradually start dropping again as my body adjusts?
Thanks in advance for your responses ☺️

The reason to wait 6 weeks is because it takes about that long for thyroid hormone levels to settle after a dose increase. For some of us it takes longer, personally I can still feel a difference at 8-10 weeks. If you test too soon and your levels haven't settled you could lower or increase your dose unnecessarily and may have to readjust again later so it can delay finding your optimal dose. It really is all about gradual increases over time rather than rushing it.
That’s great thanks SeasideSusie! Trying to have patience but not my strongest suit 🙈
So in that 6 week period they could be higher then what they will settle as technically? I’m just trying to get a rough idea in my head if the two grains will be enough. Do you normally find they can rise to optimal but drop over time if not enough?
