I thought my blood test was on Friday so I took my full dose of T3 this morning. It then pinged up on my phone and it’s actually tomorrow. What can I do? Could I take a quarter tonight or do I have to reschedule? I have been waiting ages to have it done!
Thank you very much.

Last dose of T3 should be 8-12 hours before the test so ideally for tomorrow's test you would have split today's dose and taken the last part tonight and timed it to give the correct gap.
I certainly wouldn't take any more tonight because that will mean that you would take more than your daily dose.
You have two options
1) Do the test tomorrow and accept that the FT3 result will be lower than if the timing was right, it's a guesstimate as to how much lower but some people suggest it could be 20% lower.
2) Reschedule the appointment to get the correct timing.
As you're taking T3 you might want to go with option 2.
It certainly would be ideal to reschedule. The only issue I have is that I’m having an operation on 7th November and I may not be able to schedule an early morning appointment in time. I planned this one to be in the holiday so there was no issue with the school run.
I’ll try and see when I can get one.
There’s not much point in doing it if it isn’t as accurate as possible.
I have just called and I would have to wait another three weeks. I’m having symptoms at the moment so I know something isn’t right. When I’m tired, I have not much voice left.
I feel so upset that I got the day wrong and took my medication this morning.
I can’t bear feeling like this for much longer. Another three weeks seems so long!
I have decided to have it. It may tell me something - eg if the T3 is high. It may not tell me anything. If not, I can do it again in a few weeks. I’ll post the results anyway when they come back.
