I have been fighting my ICB for a year now.

I have recently contacted my MP and this is his response…

As an MP I am unable intervene in decisions concerning treatment options for individual patients as these must be made independently by the appropriate clinicians and commissioning authorities in order to ensure fairness and consistency. I have been unable to review the other documents you included, but I see that the CCG response outlines other courses of action open to you - namely, referral to an endocrinologist in Nottingham, submission of an Individual Funding Request by your consultant, or a request for your complaint to be reviewed by the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman. If you have not already done so I would recommend that you follow the advice in the CCG response and consider these options.  Best wishes,

I'm so pleased your MP still refers to CCGs while you, as a "mere" patient, have noticed the change to ICBs.

Right thing to do but it didn't get you very far.

This just shows where the incontestable power lies - in an aledgedly freethinking country. And yet ironically private endos can charge for doing the very thing they are (apparently) forbidden within the NHS. I don’t want our noses to be cut off to spite our faces but don’t you think there is something so wrong here it is difficult to get on the wavelength of what is happening in this country.
