I've read on here a number of times that people don't get on with teva levothyroxine. I changed my dose a few weeks agoback to 125 levo and 10 t3. I've been on this dose before and the nhs endo agreed to another 3month trial to make direct comparison with previous dose 75/15. This was about 6 weeks ago. I started the dose change as I had the levo to do it and my prescription was changed at boots.when I picked it up the 25s are teva. I'm 9 days in and for the last 3 or 4days I've felt sick, squeamish, gurgly tummy, funny poo.Not loose just funny.( sorry). I thought at first it was a bug.i used to feel sick before I started on t3. I've done bloods this morning but I wonder if these symptoms could be linked to teva?

They could be either. If the symptoms coincided with starting Teva levothyroxine then chances are that could be the cause. Instead of using the Teva 25mcg why not halve a 50mcg other brand that you know you're fine with and take 50 + half a tablet, or alternate 50/100 and see if it makes a difference. I think you'll then know the answer.
thank you. That's a good idea. It does seem to coincide with teva. I spoke to the pharmacist who asked me to speak to gp to get prescription changed and issue a new one saying not teva! After "discussion" with gp and reassuring her that its not a bug as she wanted to suggest quite strongly she has changed prescription! I really don't know why doctors just don't want to accept that you know your own body after existing in it for years better than they do in a 4 minute phone conversation!! I hate dealing with doctors. All I want to do is not feel like crap. You don't achieve that by overmedicating yourself!!!
sorry seaside susie for giving you the brunt of my frustration but I just gey sick of trying to negotiate with doctors just to feel ok!!!
BiscuitBaby, I was given Teva, about 10 years ago and it made me really ill. I checked the ingredients and firmly believe it was the acacia powder filler in the tablets. My stomach was very badly upset. I thought I was developing a gastric ulcer. I went on to Actavis/ Almus and the problem went away. I made sure that if I needed a dose increase i just cut up a 50mcgm or 100mcgm tablet to get the right dose with the same brand.
My prescription says quite clearly no TEVA, only Actavis/Almus
thank you, yes it was mainly my stomach that was queasy and my heart rate a bit off as well and generally not feeling well at all. I'm not normally sensitive to these things so it took a while for the penny to drop. spoke with pharmacist who suggested that it might be the fillers and got me to phone gp to request no teva on my prescription. I did this and thought I would phone the chemist to see if new ones in and they told me that the gp had requested that all prescriptions should be teva!!! Had to get it changed again. Pharmacy very good they gave me the alternative without prescription! Thank you for replying. It's much appreciated and makes you feel so much less alone with all this and less like you are making it up!!!
