Encouraging update

Today, I walked for the longest I have since I became very ill 6 months ago. It was amazing.

Also today, Google recognized my speech for the first time in months. I could tell the last few days that my tongue was getting better, but this is solid evidence!

After a day out, I went and picked up some groceries at a few stores, came home and cooked dinner. It seems surreal.

Week 5 of the 6 that I needed to wait since starting the new dose of meds has been very, very, good. It's not just the meds. It's all the vitamins nad minerals that I've been taking daily for months. I also think the N-acetyl-cysteine and glutathione had been helping reduce the mucin in my legs and tongue.

For the first time since being diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and told by my doctor I had full blown myxedema, I am hopeful that I will recover. It will take time, but I believe it will happen.

I am very thankful.

I hope each person here is able to get the help and support you need and deserve to get well.

This group has been very helpful. Thank you.

Thank you! So far, it seems to be holding. Meeting with my MD Thursday morning, plan to ask for complete thyroid panel, TG-ab (TPO were negative), and ferritin, then see if I could use another 5 mcg of Cytomel. I will keep you posted. Thanks again!

My background as a clinician helped, but so did the evidence-based support of this group! It definitely shortened my learning curve.

I suspect the output on my thyroid fluctuates a fair amount, and I don't know if getting the dose of meds right now, will proclude issues in the future. I suspect there will be the need for ongoing testing and tweaking. Unfortunately, my doctor will likely be retirimg soon, so that will pose a whole new set of problems.

One day at a time.
