Hi, what is the best way to get nutrient levels tested please (avoiding gp route)

My daughter feels awful on 100 levo, the endo has said to do 100 and 75 levo on alternate days, her free t4 is 23.8 and she has suppressed tsh of <0.01.

prior to this when she was on 75 levo her t4 was 10 and tsh 2.9.

Im reading up on the benefits of magnesium to aid sleeping and relaxation, but don’t want to start giving her anything without knowing what her levels are first 😊

Medichecks or Blue horizon are the most popular option

Is she currently taking any vitamin supplements at all

how long has she been on 100mcg levothyroxine

Does she always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription

Does she normally take levothyroxine waking or bedtime?

all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins

Medichecks Thyroid plus antibodies and vitamins

Blue Horizon Thyroid Premium Gold includes antibodies, cortisol and vitamins

Only do private testing early Monday or Tuesday morning. Watch out for postal strikes, probably want to pay for guaranteed 24 hours delivery

Thank you, that’s all very helpful 😄

Tbh she isn’t in a very good routine, she said taking them before bed seems to gives her nightmares so we try to do mornings but often end up double dosing the next day.

Brand wise we get the same.

Supplements - multivits, I’ve recently bought magnesium supplements but worry slightly about doing anything off our own back without checking first. Her legs ache so much and she really struggles to sleep so I was hoping these might help.

The dosage was previously 75mg and was increased to 100mg about 12 weeks ago.

multivitamins are never recommended on here

And stop any supplements that contain biotin week before ALL Blood tests

Request/insist GP test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 and come back with new post once you get results
