You’re not on any replacement thyroid hormones…..but trying to get diagnosed

Is this correct?

Was this test done early morning, ideally just before 9am

Exactly what vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Have you had coeliac blood test done

Are you on strictly gluten free diet or dairy free diet

High thyroid antibodies confirms autoimmune thyroid disease

Low Ft4 and Ft3 …..but GP only looks at TSH ….which is also low

Vitamin D is too low - aiming for at least around 80nmol minimum

Ferritin much too low

You need full iron panel test for anaemia

Do you eat red meat

Are you pre or post menopause

really Excellent article on low iron and thyroid

Low iron and/or low ferritin frequently linked to hair loss

Heavy periods can lead to low iron and ferritin

cks.nice.org.uk/topics/anae...

In all people, a serum ferritin level of less than 30 micrograms/L confirms the diagnosis of iron deficiency

Also See page 7 on here

Look at increasing iron rich foods in diet

Eating iron rich foods like liver or liver pate once a week plus other red meat, pumpkin seeds and dark chocolate, plus daily orange juice or other vitamin C rich drink can help improve iron absorption

This is interesting because I have noticed that many patients with Hashimoto’s disease and hypothyroidism, start to feel worse when their ferritin drops below 80 and usually there is hair loss when it drops below 50.

Never supplement iron without doing full iron panel test for anaemia first and retest 3-4 times a year if self supplementing. It’s possible to have low ferritin but high iron

improving low iron and ferritin likely to significantly improve symptoms

Get full iron panel test done

Significantly increase iron rich foods in your diet

Low vitamin levels tend to lower TSH …..especially low ferritin

Suggest you read the many, many posts and replies by humanbean on improving low ferritin

Optimal ferritin is at least half way through range….70-100 usually

If iron is high, you can’t take iron supplements….can only improve by iron rich diet

See many links in my previous reply above

low vitamins tend to lower TSH…..restest in 4-6 months after improving low vitamin levels

It can take many months to improve low ferritin
