Well, I’m thankful I have a diagnosis! I really thought I was going through the change but I guess that’s still to come.
Diagnosis today by gp as hyperthyroidism. Tsh <0.02 free t4 56.1 and t3 30.2.
The gp advised he is sending me as a 2 week rule to endocrine. I think I have any neck lump, he didn’t examine. Has anyone had this experience or can tell me what the numbers mean?
That should say I don’t have a neck lump!

You have very high thyroid hormone levels. Both Free T4 and Free T3. The most important one is Free T3.
I'm somewhat surprised they didn't get advice from endocrinology and offer some medication. (Probably Carbimazole.)
If you deteriorate, do call 111, or whatever is appropriate.

I’m curious as to when your hyperthyroid symptoms started, as your profile says you joined in 2017, but understand this is your first post. Do you have family members with thyroid issues?
What symptoms are you currently experiencing?
It’s useful to supply the ranges for thyroid blood tests, as these can vary between laboratories. However, your FT3 and FT4 are clearly very high. Has your GP offered any treatment to alleviate symptoms before your endocrinology appointment? As helvella has advised, do seek urgent medical support if you feel more unwell. It a very important you get the right course of treatment asap.
Hi buddy, I joined then as I had Bell’s palsy.Symptoms for this, now I’m reading about it, started in spring this year. Can’t sleep, hot flushes, increased sweating, always tired, shaky, legs twitching and shaking. Gastro problems and only recently weight loss. I am overweight so was pleased with the loss but now I know why.
Ranges for the t4 (11 -23 )and t3 (3.9 -6.8)
No family history, no treatment offered yet but I will take yours and helluvas advice to seek help. I’ve noticed a few people have been prescribed meds immediately so I’ll try to get through tomorrow.
I also have no family history of thyroid issues, but there are siblings with other auto immune conditions.
I was initially diagnosed with Graves’ disease, largely due to ‘hyper’ symptoms (plus Thyroid Eye Disease) but antibodies actually show I have Hashimotos and an underactive thyroid. It was actually a gastroenterologist who first suspected a thyroid issue (during a consultation for gastritis). I was initially given beta blockers to help with fast heart rate/ palpitations.
I would ask your GP for thyroid antibodies to be tested to determine if you definitely have Graves.

I suffered for over 12 months with hyper symptoms before I got my diagnosis of hyperthyroidism, my gp prescribed anti thyroid drugs, unfortunately for me they didn't work, and even worse my gp never consulted a endo on my condition.
As I couldn't stomach the anti thyroid drugs 4 months later I was rushed into hospital in thyroid crisis, this is when things actually started to move for me by the lovely ward doctor, he organised for me to see an endo, I then had an uptake scan on my thyroid and bloods for auto immune, came back as graves disease, I would urge you like some members on here have to contact your gp about your levels, T4 T3 are high as mine were, TSH suppressed,
My ward doctor checked my heart regularly, also you should have bloods done again to keep an eye on your levels to.. Again unfortunately my gp never did this 😠 how far away is your endo appointment? Your gp should be keeping a close eye on your health until you see the endo.. I hope you get this sorted soon❤️
Hi Sej80 I too was thought to be suffering from menopause they put me on hrt but obviously that didn't work and it wasn't untill I couldn't sign my name because I had micro shakes so bad that gp decided to check thyroid function, gp phoned me up next day and told me over the phone that I needed to come see them urgently as I was overactive, I was given beta blockers and carbimazole to take straight away the gp had phoned the endo to get some advice while I was waiting for an appointment it was 4 months before I saw the endo. Do make sure you talk to gp about getting some help with medication straight away they really should not be leaving you so unwell and it can be a burden on the heart.
