Hopefully you can see cardiologist and get thyroid levels improved. Cardiologists have a good understanding of how important FT3 is

Heart needs GOOD Ft3 levels

Explain to consultant you have Hashimoto’s and very poor conversion of Ft4 to Ft3

Request consultant test TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 together

Previous post shows you had low Ft3 and dose levothyroxine was reduced….this will result in even lower Ft3 level

dose levothyroxine was reduced 4 months ago, despite low Ft3

Test was done in afternoon and dose levothyroxine only approx 12 hours before test

FT4: 21.5 pmol/l (Range 12 - 22)

Ft4 is 95.00% through range

FT3: 4.09 pmol/l (Range 3.1 - 6.8)

Ft3 is only 26.76% through range

So Ft4 was falsely high

2 months later after dose was reduced…..only TSH tested

Tested 13th may 8.80 am fasting for 24 hours as advised.

TSH 2.15 ( range 0.27-4.20lU/L)

Also request B12, folate and homocysteine levels tested

High B12 can be deceptive

Paradoxical B12 deficiency with hypothyroidism

Thank you slowdragon I will try to ask about my thyroid levels but at the moment they not mentioned it to me at all. There concerned my heart levels areHigh in the 80s There given me loads tablets to thin the blood and injections in my tummy too also high dose statins I think you know I’m not much good and speaking to Drs but will try mentioning t3 to the cardiologist when he next comes round to see me, he’s organising a needle in my arm which goes into my heart thank you for replying and thank you everyone for replying it was so nice to have so many well wishes x

High cholesterol is linked to being under medicated for thyroid

Request they test your thyroid hormones, make sure test is done early morning and last dose Levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Are you getting your Levothyroxine and same brand as before

Thank you after you spoke to me earlier tHe cardiologist came to see me and I mentioned what you said about t3 etc. Yes managed to get same brand. Just to tell you everything I haven’t got high cholesrtal at all but They want to load me up with blood thinners and high dose statins to try take the pressure of my heart so it’s not struggling I’m having more scans tomorrow I’ll let you know if cardiologist does my thyroid levels Thank you

Timetraveler67 just to say “ been there, done that, got umpteen T-shirts”. Twenty years ago! In fact it’s it’s birthday on the 7th of August. I remember it as if it was yesterday. Take your time. Try to enjoy the imposed rest. Hopefully they do cardio rehab in your area. It had just started in my area at the time. It was brilliant and takes a lot of the fear out of what has just happened to you. Best Wishes.
