hello all,
I'm having bloods done in morning always done that I last my Levo dose 24h before.
Is this correct approach ? Surely should know what are levels when medicated to know the dose is correct?

Levo peaks in the blood 2-4 hours after ingestion. If you test after taking your Levo the result will show a false high FT4 level. So we suggest that if you want a measure of your normal circulating hormone avoiding a false high or false low FT4 then take last dose of Levo 24 hours before the test. If you have always tested this way in the past and you change now to taking your Levo before the test your false high level will suggest to your doctor that you are overmedicated and he will probably reduce your dose.
Important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 levels too
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
I already had result of Tsh 2.08 and T4 13.9I completely forgot to ask what are they testing so I hope there will be more than just this.
I've been feeling quite worse recently with swelling, hot, burning feet, dizzy, hair loss, dry skin and very brittle breaking nails, something i haven't started from for 20 years. I feel best at TSH 1.5 but those years are being done by GP not by Endo as i can't keep paying £200 to see one privately to get tests requested and again £200 to get them explained. I'll see if i get any more results by Monday.

Always get test done early morning, ideally before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
How much levothyroxine are you currently taking
Please add ranges on Ft4 result
You don’t need to spend that sort of money

extremely important to get full iron panel test BEFORE starting on iron supplements
How long have you been taking 4000iu vitamin D
When was vitamin D last tested
Thank you, I always appreciate your advice. This time I've requested my GP for years highlighting vit D, B12, iron but at the end, I forgot to ask the noise today what was on the list at the end. I can see my results online once they are released by the lab and so far only those two popped up.
Last vit D was taken in April and it was 76.3 nmol/l but they didn't give range. My Endo said that i should keep taking the size I already bought. But I've been really bad since the beginning of June and didn't take anything until last week 🙈
So I've been back on my vits since last week.
My last Ferritin was checked in Dec and was 38.1ug/l. range 10.0-291.00
I'm currently on 75/50 alternate days. Endo tried 75 daily + 100 on Sunday back in Jan when my TSH was 2.94 (same range as above) when I was very symptomatic but I went other way and ended with TSH 0.16 and again I was very symptomatic so why back to 75/50 what she had advised me though she wrote to my GP that i should be on 75 daily (not what we discussed so I stuck to what I was told).
I am now on all tablets from Wockhardt all 25mcg tablets after an advice here to keep one brand and after a little battle with my pharmacy which insisted to give me scraps of several different brands each month. I've been on this one for 2 months.
FT4: 13.9 pmol/l (Range 10.5 - 21)
Ft4 only 32.38% through range
Helpful calculator for working out percentage through range
Most people when adequately treated will have Ft4 at least 60-70% through range
Most important result is always Ft3 …..looking for Ft3 at least 50-60% through range minimum
All four vitamins need to be tested and optimal
Vitamin D at least around 80nmol and around 100nmol maybe better
Ferritin at least over 70
Folate at least half way through range
Serum B12 at least over 500
I'm taking 4000 vit D, vir B complex, magnesium and just started iron. I'm also taking probiotics and vegetable supplement which were designed for a study in Cambridge hospital for long covid patients. I've been diagnosed not with this together with ME/CFS bit I've had ME/CFS for 10 years with better and wise days but since getting thyroid issues, I just can't get better and baby do anything.
