The doctor at the 30 minute mark suffered from lupus for twelve years and is now well.
Another doctor mentions the markers for inflammation like c reactive protein, homocysteine, lipoprotein lipase, LP PLA two, showing unstable plaque and high ferritin but if only homocysteine is high it is an important factor.
Thank you for sharing this Heloise just what I needed today. 2 weeks ago I was diagnosed with hyperthyroid given high doze of medication and left to wonder the root of my dis balance. This is exactly what I feel it is, a chronic inflammation gone acute.
You're welcome Lily. Inflammation IS the root of all evil in health and I am hoping it will assist us in actually finding out what is causing it. Reducing stress and avoiding the chronic sympathetic state is essential. If you are in a stressful situation, it could be part of your difficulties. Different breathing techniques can be effective. Food triggers can be damaging i.e. gluten and dairy. I've watched dozens of these summits and know of many of these doctors/researchers and feel the information will be excellent and this format is easy to watch and keeps us interested. Many of the experts have patients all over the world.
Partially hydrogenated guar gum and inulin have benefits.Choosing the right probiotic is important. LGG is an all round probiotic which can decrease endotoxins, HN019 to increase transit time, DSM17938 for constipation.
Fermented foods, kimchi, sauerkraut will add to the diversity of the microbiome.
The growth of good bacteria from these foods will balance your microbiome.
Also add polyphenols to your diet, we can't absorb these large compounds but they feed the good bacteria in the microbiome. Think chocolate and red wine, legumes, whole grains, flax seeds, blueberries even soybeans which are not colorful but have a good supply. Anything that improves your microbiome are going to help with inflammation.
Herbs like thyme and rosemary have lots of polyphenols.
Almost all berries are high in polyphenols but also have antioxidants. Maqu berries and Aronia berries are particularly dark, amla berries have proven to reduce c reactive protein.
In episode 3 they explain the process of beginning an autoimmune disease. The inflammation is in the gut, the white cells are sent from the gut to the bloodstream to destroy particles that escaped if you have leaky gut. Also, an infection like Epstein Barre can begin an immune reaction. It can take a month or two for those microscopic pieces to leave the blood which are causing the immune response. If it is food related you have to stop those foods for six weeks. Microbiome testing can tell you about infections, deficiencies, overgrowth of bacteria. Processed wheat now form into so many derivatives it is pro inflammatory. Casein in dairy has similar structure to gluten according to Dr. Felicia Gersh so together make a bad combination..
They recommend chamomile, peppermint, marshmallow root, slippery elm to protect the gut lining. L glutamine as a supplement is also helpful as well as the short chain fatty acid, Butyrate. which is now a supplement. Aloe is helpful if it is aloin free, Vit A twice a week and of course Vit. D which helps to dampen autoimmune flares.Spore based probiotics can help improve the microbiome. Don't eat the same thing 14 items (they found) every day. Instead try to add 35 different foods, counting herbs and making smoothies can help you accomplish this.
Several of the doctors in this series were very ill at one time but they all agree that autoimmune conditions can be overcome. One felt that you may need steroids for a short time in order to pause the symptoms especially if you have had it for years and years.
Dr. Gersh pointed out this study mentioning the spleen and autoimmunity.
Many of the syndromes and symptoms Dr Goldner & her patients had experienced are frequently mentioned on this forum. Fatigue is not unique to low thyroid hormone nor low iron levels.
Hashimoto's thyroiditis, Grave's & hypothyroidism are in the mix of diseases of the testimonials. Time stamps around 1:18, 3.15, 3:23, 3:30, and 3:41. Anyway, it's a labour of love she puts this out for free.
Also search for "LIVE Q&A" (only two) on her youtube channels, and the long form interviews she did on other channels.
The extra interview she did for the "Inflammation Solution" series is here
I'm adding a couple of reviews on Amazon for her book "Goodbye Lupus" here:

In one month,I was able to dramatically decrease my thyroid antibodies and many days I didn't get in the full RX of greens, flaxseeds or water. I'm excited to continue this healing nutritional journey! My MD told me he couldn't help me. I so appreciate Dr. Goldner's protocol, book and case examples for a variety of autoimmune conditions.

I got diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. Instead of starting medication, I did 3.5 weeks of pure hypernourishment. All my markers went down to normal range and I am still not taking any medications. I continue to have a green smoothie everyday as a part of my whole food plant based diet. Thank you Dr. Brooke Goldner!
