How long would it take to feel the effects of a double dose of levothyroxine or missing a dose?

I missed two days dose due to my chemist being closed due to the jubilee. I added 25mcg a day till I caught up . Didn't have any symptoms. Should I have had?

Levothyroxine is a storage hormone

In theory you could take a weeks dose all in one go (but wouldn’t recommend trying it)

So no you might not notice at all

Don’t do a blood test for few weeks though

It partly depends whether or not you're on the right dose. If you were under-medicated, you might well have noticed symptoms quite quickly. But if you're on a good dose, it can take time for symptoms to kick in. If you'd missed a whole weeks worth you would probably have known about it before the week was up. How long it takes for symptoms to kick in is a very individual thing though. You did the right thing by increasing over a few days to make up the shortfall.
