Mixing brands

Hi ladies, can I mix to different brand of thyroxine? I want to bring my tablets up to 100 mcg from 75 I have spare tablets and was going to cut one in half

The issue is first that you need to tolerate all the makes involved. Second that you don't just randomly switch around. (If you don't feel so good one day, you'll realise how much you want to know what you took each day!) Third, that the potency for you doesn't end up making you have unstable thyroid hormone levels. (Two tablets, exactly the same dose, but you absorb 75% or one and 70% of the other. Or something like that. Your absorption might be different to what someone else absorbs.)

I have long ended up taking two makes. Accord 100 microgram and 25 microgram tablets of another make - most often Mercury Pharma. (But never Teva.)
