T3 and anxiety flare up

Since reintroducing T3 last week I have had a significant flare up of Panic attacks - could the two events be linked ?

Hi Steni, your increased anxiety will no doubt be linked to you reintroducing T3 after a break. My anxiety is always worse if I increase or decrease too quickly. Jazzw gave you useful advice in your last post to re- introduce the T3 slowly…… did you follow this or try to go back to your previous dose in one go?I need to adjust medication super slowly, as I always seem to get adverse symptoms if I try to rush things.

Thank you - it’s true I did get that advice but also conflicting advice to the contrary - I guess I chose the wrong course ! Hopefully it will settle down but meanwhile I’m feeling pretty terrible .

Hang in there Steni, the adverse symptoms will pass!

I fully understand the temptation to increase doses quickly in a bid to ‘feel better’, but have learned from experience that I need to be more of a tortoise than a hare when making changes to my thyroid medication. I bought a pill cutter & now only increase/ decrease Levo in 12.5mcg amounts (alternate days at first) and also split 5mcg Liothyronine if I need to add more T3.

Thanks Buddy , it’s horrible when anxiety grips you and seems to be unshakable - but your right , it will pass.
