Test results and how do you feel after dose change?
Angie if theyve added another tablet of 25mcg why not try splitting the tablet in half for a few days and ease yourself in. You do have a cracking high TSH!!! Also have you checked your other vit levels : b12, folate, iron & vit D. Commonly low and these need to be at an optimum level for the levo to work best.
Which brand of levothyroxine were you taking on 75mcg dose
Which brand of levothyroxine are you now taking
Many people find different brands are not interchangeable
As waveylines suggested……you could try cutting 100mcg tablet in half and taking half dose waking and half at bedtime
Essential to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 too
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
Hi Angie10116, anxiety has been a significant symptom of hypothyroidism for me, but rest assured it will reduce when your thyroid medication & key vitamins (ferritin, folate, B12 and Vit D) become optimal. Have you tested these vitamins too?
As I react badly to increases or decreases in medication, I adjust super slowly…. Adding 12.5mcg alternate days at first. A pill cutter comes in handy for this. Best wishes to you.
It's not unusual when increasing a dose to feel worse before you feel better! That can sometimes confuse the issue.
Your FT4 is not N(normal) as the results above indicate
That gives the impression that you should feel well
"Normal" here only means within range
Normal for the individual is the point within the lab range where we feel well
All going well you should reach that point by very slowly increasing your dose and re testing 6/8 weeks after each dose change....until you feel well.
The body can take this time to settle with the new hormone level
Your FT3 is abysmally low which will cause yo to feel unwell
Providing your T4 to T3 conversion is adequate ...as you increase your levo dose your T3 level should rise.
For good health an adequate and constant supply of T3 must reach the nuclei of almost every cell in the body, where it becomes active.
Low T3 = poor health.
Anxiety is a symptom of low T3
Sadly there is no quick fix but with the correct treatment even complicated thyroid problems can be improved....I am an example of that!
Be patient, optimise essential nutrients, add the hormone slowly/ split doses, test after increases, keep a record of symptoms, dose changes and new labs
Feeling unwell can be very scary, but keep posting and we'll try to help you through this.
