Would you be interested in updates about the latest scientific research into your health condition?

I have been trying to find ways to optimize my health condition, including with prescription medication, supplements, diet and exercise routines. I've spent many, many, many hours doing my own research, trawling through PubMed etc to find the latest research about my health condition and related symptoms to find a routine and way of life that works for me. I'm sure many of you might have had similar experiences - including trawling through numerous websites trying to find bits of information here and there and trying to piece things together.

It was during this experience that I thought to myself how amazing it would be if there was a service which provided monthly or quarterly updates about the latest research into my health condition, which summarized the information into an accessible and less time consuming format.

So, I was wondering if anyone else would also be interested in such a service? Would it help you to manage your condition better?

It is very kind of you but Thyroiduk.org.uk have 'scientific advisers' who keep them up-to-date with the latest findings.

Hello,

Thyroid.uk and some other websites are excellent resources for those beginning their journey to health. I was thinking more of a tailored 'service' (for want of a better word) that would focus on specific topics that someone might be researching e.g lowering inflammation, lowering HOMA-IR, specific food and nutrients etc plus research about topics which relate to chronic illness in general such as research about the cell danger response. I appreciate that some of those topics are covered in some detail here and on other websites, but I personally found it quite time consuming to read through all of it, which if you have the time (and energy!) to peruse, is great. I initially used Thyroid.uk and other sites, which were great when I initially started to look at how to help myself, but I had to do a lot of reading on various other sites to really find out more about what I needed to improve my health. I suppose it's about having the option to have a more simplified process if there were one.

I would have thought this would be something that anyone with a health condition might want to consider, not just those with a thyroid issue. I was curious as to how others living with a health condition would think about it, because I certainly would be interested if someone asked me!

Best wishes,

L

lh22, We have our very own thyroid researcher right here on the forum. Check out the hundreds of posts from member diogenes which you can find here healthunlocked.com/user/dio...

The American Thyroid Association offers a regular email update.

An awful lot of the topics they include have already been discussed here. Which limits their usefulness.

That is a fundamental problem when quite a number of members here get regular updates from PubMed and post things they find interesting or potentially useful.

I quite often post about a new paper. (Though diogenes is the scientist, and I am just an ordinary member without qualification.)

I suggest that if you find something suitable, you have a quick look to see if it has already been discussed, and put up a new post if it hasn't.

Not what you're looking for?
