T3 and pregnancy

Hi,

Does anyone here have any experience of taking T3 when pregnant?

Why is the NHS against it? Is it too complicated to manage and/or too expensive for them in terms of bloodtests? or is there any proof of it being detrimental to the baby?

On the leaflet that comes with the T3 it says it is safe for oregnant and breastfeeding women (French brand)

Thanks :)

Best,

Joanna

This is a link from our 'mother' website that may be informative for you.

The professionals do not like prescribing T3 (liothyronine) because it is too expensive in the UK.

They had withdrawn T3 for those who had it prescribed and had been taking it for some time. That decision caused panic amongst patients who had relieved many of their clinical symptoms.
