I'm looking at buying the full thyroid screen test through medichecks but was wondering for those of you that have used them, how much blood is needed? And is it straightforward getting enough blood.
I've used the finger lancets through work before for testing blood sugars, so I am familiar with them, but have never ordered private blood tests before.

The amount of blood required is less than 1ml. The tube is marked up to 600 or 0.6ml and you need to fill the tube to that line. When you consider that 1 teaspoon holds 5ml, you need less than 1/5th of that, probably about 1/8th of a teaspoon.
The lancets for blood sugar are different from the lancets for this type of fingerprick test, they're larger blue and white ones with a retractable blade, the same as in this Blue Horizon fingerprick test kit here (click on right hand picture):
