What were your thyroid and vitamin results and ranges

Even if GP has increased by 50mcg, recommended to only increase by 25mcg initially

Many/most find 50mcg increase too much to tolerate in one go

Increase dose by 25mcg and retest after 6-8 weeks

Which brand of levothyroxine are you currently taking

Do you always get same brand

Important to regularly retest vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

So have you started on 50mcg extra or on 25mcg initially

No going from 100 to 150 straight off

I'm nearly 6ft and feel that height and weight should be considered too

If that is the case, he is clearly badly informed.

There is no absolute maximum dose. A standard phrase used in the Summary of Product Characteristics documents for levothyroxine in the UK says: The final daily dose may be up to 50 to 200 micrograms.

But there is plenty of evidence some need more. Especially if the person has issues which impact absorption.

There is even a documented case of someone who was taking over 3000 micrograms a day - with no signs whatsoever of overdosing.

And in some countries, such as the USA, you can even get tablets in 300 microgram dosage.

Regarding height and weight, you might care to read my documents:

Well I see how I get on . On 150 . Obviously if any bad side effects will cut down. I'm hoping to feel more my age than 90
