I attended my appointment on the 21 December 2021 for a FNA. I informed the doctor that the lump on my neck has reduced in size is small. He said he would do an ultrasound to see if it was necessary for FNA. The ultrasound was done it took approx 20 min, the doctor said a FNA was not necessary. I have a follow up to see the ENT doctor end of February 2022. The Endocrinologists wants to see me mid February 2022 need to change this appointment to get the results first from the ENT doctor. The Endo's report to my doctor stated I refused anti-thyroid tablets, well yes, I tried carbimazole it did not work for me, and as for PTU there is no way I would take these tablets, my mum died from liver disease.
I feel just fine, and as long as I am ok, the anti thyroid tablets its a big No.
Merry Christmas x

Hello PurpleNailsMy next appointment is early next year with the ENT doctor then with the Endo, the thing is what I did not say, since September I have been having implant procedures, this is what has caused the lymph node to enlarge, when I was first seen by the ENT doctor I did mention it to him, but he did not remark, however, the doctor who conducted the second Ultrasound he said its from my teeth, the procedure hence not going ahead with the fine needle aspiration.
Tablets will not work for me, when the Endo called me it was a telephone consultation, she went straight into having thyroid removed, etc I said no. I am listening to my body, I do not have symptoms I feel ok there is no need to break something that is not broken.
As for my levels again she was rather aloof did not say exactly what my levels were unless I do private blood tests I do not know. The issue with hospitals they keep the results for themselves, I should of had a copy sent to me at my home address.
Well your still entitled to your records even from the hospital, doctors are never forthcoming. Recent records can be sent to you from the department which requested them. Approach the department secretary If there’s any obstruction there are other ways to request copies of hospital records.
Hospital webpages usual lists a health records department / library. Often a person contact or department email & address is listed. If not I would try the switchboard and ask it there’s a records department.
Then they usually have there own application form where you can request single, or entire record. Usually ID and a witness signature is required. I have done this via email.
