Can anyone advise how I convert nmol/l to ug/l. Thrivia has given my folate result in ug/l whereas all of my previous results from Medichecks were in ug/l and I would like to be able to compare.
Many thanks

There is no real need to convert the units, as the ranges vary from lab to lab you would need to have the range as well as the result so you can't really compare.
The best thing to do is just work out the percentage through range, leave the units as they are. Here is the calculator to work out percentages:

Hi Seaside Susie. I have just checked my Thrivia results again and they are :Active B12=114PMOL/L (37.5-188)
Ferritin 109 ug/l (13-150)
Folate >45nmol/l (8.83-60.8)
TPOAb=65.3 (less than 34)
TgAb =22.9 ku/l (0-115)
Vit D=104nmol/l (75-175)
So I can't really calculate % through range for Folate as my level s just given as greater than 45.
You don't really need to work out percentage through range for any of those, it's only really important for thyroid results, and possibly very low levels of nutrients when trying to indicate to a GP how poor they are, eg ferritin.
Active B12 over 100 is good.
Ferritin half way through range (82 with your range) although some experts say the optimal level for thyroid function is 90-110ug/L.
Vit D is recommended by the Vit D Society and Grassroots Health to be 100-150nmol/L, with a recent blog post on Grassroots Health mentioning a study which recommends over 125nmol/L.
So your folate is higher than their machine measures. Folate is recommended to be at least half way through it's range (35 plus with that range) so you are well over that. Are you taking a separate folate supplement? I expect the Medichecks range was 3.89-19.45, just look at where in the range that is if you want to compare.
You don't need percentage through range for thyroid antibodies, they're either positive (over range) or negative (below upper limit)
Thank you Susie. Re supplements, I oy take Vit D and vit K. No vit b supplements or folate. My folate seems to be much higher than previously. Only change to diet is gluten free for nearly a year and also eating more asparagus and red meat. Doubt if that would explain things. Would it be dangerous to have folate too high level?
However, you can convert units here:
If you really want.
Thanks Helvella. I’m curious so I think I will use this calculator just to see how it compares but will keep in mind Seaside Susies advice too.
