Hello hoping someone can help as worried! I’m in the middle of hormone testing and received the following result on Urine Iodine. Can anyone explain why it’s so high?
Info: on Nature Thyroid for low T3 (non autoimmune), not supplementing or anything.

Also, if you’re taking T3 then your thyroid isn’t making hormones. The thyroid gland is the main user of dietary iodine, so you’re likely weeing out most of the iodine in your diet.
Caveat: not a doctor, nutritionist or anything like that, but it makes sense to me.
Is this spot testing where it is just done from one random sample? if so I have read somewhere these tests are very inaccurate. The iodine loading test is the only accurate one where urine is collected over 24 hours.
If you are not eating an iodine rich diet then it is not an accurate presentation of your body iodine levels. The spot test will only tell you what the kidneys have decided to dump at that moment it time. Some people take 50mg+ iodine a day and still show up as insufficient on the iodine loading test which is a 24 hour sample.
