Just wondering what resting heart rate is normal with hashimotos? Mine seems to be high 80s and even gets to 130 when doing simple things like chopping veggies.

I’m interested in this too! Are you on medication?

No I’m not on medication yet. My dr was trialling me in levothyroxine but I felt like it made my heart beat faster and I having more bowel movements so I stopped them after a week.

Oh well that’s strange then. From what I’ve read RHR can be really low in people with under active thyroid? I expect others will comment 😊

That’s what I thought so maybe I’m having a hyperthyroid attack 🤷‍♀️

" maybe I’m having a hyperthyroid attack 🤷‍♀️"

"my tsh is 1.03, my t4 is 12.8 and my t3 is 4.4. I feel extremely fatigued so the dr has put me on a trial of eltroxin 25mg. I’ve been on them for four days and have been getting more bowel movements and my resting heart rate is 80. "

assuming these are recent results , then that is unlikely . Hyperthyroid would have shown much lower TSh and much higher T4/T3 levels

Same. My RHR used to be in the high 50s. I’ve always been active. I think I’m still active but maybe not quite so much. I run now with a RHR in the 70s but it can sit higher when I’m not exerting myself. I’m not exactly worried because it’s not that high but I would like it to be lower. If too low though then maybe it’s due to under active thyroid and not correct/enough replacement? Maybe though the low RHR wasn’t because I was fit but due to having undiagnosed Hashis??

My heart rate has always been fast (sinus tachycardia) , even when grossly undermedicated for hypothyroidism. This has only recently been treated with beta blockers and now sits nicely around 79 which is so much more comfortable than what it used to be (140+).

My heart rate on average sits at 80 something. It gets worse when my thyroid lab levels go below or above the range. A brief stint with a holter monitor showed that it went up to 120 at night during sleep. Probably due to my apnea. Nothing beats being optimally treated to reduce a racing heart. That said, sole water has helped calm down my tachycardia

RHR is "resting" IE doing nothing/lying in bed/vegged in front of TV so if doing anything even drinking hot tea/coffee it will be higher as heat stimulates it anyway.

My hr when doing very little is around 50 now years back was 20's/low 30's

It's BP that is more important as for one if the 2nd figure is high HR will be higher as having to work harder to pump blood round.
