New results - but still exhausted

Hello - I have just received results from Monitor My Health. I have been on Levo since May 2020, gradually increasing from 50mg to 100mg which I have been on since the beginning of April this year. The numbers look OK, and are largely the same as my last test which was about 4.5 months ago, but still suffering from persistent tiredness - sometimes exhaustion - and sluggish metabolism. Would welcome any thoughts on when or if this tiredness will lift.

Perhaps should have put my results! They are: FT4 21.2 (12-22); FT3 6.1 (3.1-6.8); TSH: 0.1.

Your results look excellent. It would be worth testing nutrients as low levels can bring their own symptoms which can overlap with symptoms of hypothyroidism :

Vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin

Fatigue is a common symptom of low levels of all of them.

Thank you - they have been OK in the past when tested but will retest to see if anything looks inadequate.

Remember that “OK” still might not be good enough. Optimal is better! :)

Have you had coeliac blood test done yet

Have you tried strictly gluten free diet, as discussed in previous posts

Anyone with Hashimoto’s should at least try strictly gluten free for 3-6 months

You might be astonished

Have done the coeliac test which was negative. Haven’t tried strictly gluten free- I love bread and gluten free bread is usually horrible! But will try . Constipation is a persistent problem and I have read that gluten-free can make that worse. But I know I should give it a go.

Some GF bread is good (especially toasted in separate GF toaster)

Waitrose Brown seeded

Waitrose thins

Warburtons sourdough

Warburtons crumpets

Constipation

Calm vitality magnesium powder is good. Best taken afternoon or evening.Must be minimum 4 hours away from levothyroxine

Best start on low dose and increase dose slowly upwards until get desired effect ….

I meant sourdough they are round loaves. They do a tiger loaf that is also round but I find that upsets my digestion although it tastes very nice.
