I am due to take a finger prick blood test next Monday about 9am. At present I take my T3 (10mcg) and T4 (75mcg) together about 6am each morning. I understand that prior to a blood test it is preferable that I should split the T3 and take it in two separate doses, the last one being about 9pm, 12 hours before the test. Am I correct? When should I have taken the previous split dose ? I plan to take my T4 after 9am on the Monday and the previous dose about 24 hours before that. Is this OK?
Of course as is apparently usual, my consultant has said it doesn't matter when I take my tablets as long as they are at least two hours after a meal and one hour before. Does this mean my previous tests may not have been accurate? I should add that these were taken using Medichecks but I have opted to use Monitor My Health this time because I am hoping I will not have to rely on someone else to read very faint print (I have poor sight and double vision as a result of Graves).
Perhaps someone would steer me to a page which shows how I can scan in results and how I can redact personal information.
Many thanks
PS In August I actually got my consultant to agree to an additional 25mcg of T4 but not without a struggle. I am feeling a bit better but I have some way to go before I feel anything like normal.

As you are having your test at 9am on Monday, your should take your thyroid meds as follows
1) Delay your Sunday morning dose of Levo until 9am (remember to not have anything but water until 10am so that absorption isn't affected).
2) Take 5mcg T3 with your 9am dose of Levo.
3) Take your second 5mcg T3 between 9pm Sunday night and 1am Monday morning (depending on your bedtime). Last dose of T3 should be 8-12 hours before blood draw.
4) Do your test at 9am on Monday.
5) Take Monday's Levo plus T3 after the test.
I can't find any instructions given by HealthUnlocked on how to scan in a picture, but if you save your results to your computer then when you make a post you can go to the ADD A PICTURE option, upload your picture from where it is stored, then submit your post in the normal way. I don't know how to obsure the personal details, hopefully someone else will come along and help.
If you can read the results sent to you then the easiest way is to just type them in, MonitorMyHealth's thyroid test only does the 3 tests so it's not too many to type in.
Thank you very much for your prompt and very useful reply. I am still trying to work out how to scan in and redact personal details. It would be good to have your input on all my results including the Monitor My Health ones (when I get them) especially as I have a zoom call with my consultant on 6 October. Basically I need to know whether I should ask for additional T3 or T4 and I would be grateful for your advice. My daughter who may be around this weekend hopefully may know how to scan in my results. Many thanks Seaside Susie
