When on adrenal supplementation, how much extra adrenals should you take during a stressful event?

In the case of hypocortisolism and adrenal cortex supplementation, I have seen it written here that we should take extra adrenal cortex when something stressful happens. How much extra do we take for a single stressful event? Also, what do we do if the stressful event happens at night, just before bedtime? Do we still take an extra adrenal supplement then or do we wait until the next morning? Thanks!

I assume you are talking about adrenal fatigue and not adrenal insufficiency, or you wouldn´t be on adrenal cortex?

However, since adrenal cortex supplements are weaker than prescription drugs such as HC or prednisolone, you may have to take quite a lot more in times of great stress. Also, I doubt cortisol levels are measured in supplements, it´s only stated how much adrenal cortex extract they contain, not how much actual cortisol (or they wouldn´t be sold as supplements). So you would have no idea how much cortisol you are getting with each increase. The only solution would be to add a low dose (half or one capsule) at a time and see how you feel.

Logically, it makes sense to increase the dose in times of stress.

I have used adrenal cortex at night with no problems. But I cannot take glandulars (that also contain adrenaline) at night. Too stimulating for me.
