You poor girl. You have accumulated further & further symtoms as time goes on, each post with a new title.
In spite of SlowDragon offering you lots of advice, you have only ever provided one set of incomplete bloods & your TSH was over 5. You are massively under medicated and your body isn't coping well.
Many GP's do not understand thyroid issues & will keep patients under medicated for many years, if not indefinitely until the patient helps themselves by other means. This is one of the major reasons why the forum has so many members.
Iron & nutrients became low with inadequate thyroid hormone because the body becomes unable to absorb & utilise them properly, the same as with the little amount of thyroid meds you must be taking.
To find where you are at you will need TSH, FT4, FT3 , ferritin, Vit D, Vit B12 & folate testing. Thyroid antibodies TPOAb & TGAb would also be useful but not essential. All these must be tested to address your issues that are likely related to your inadequate meds.
If you can face speaking with your surgery ask them to conduct these tests. Point out how ill you have become and you feel your thyroid meds are inadequate as not keeping you well. If you can't face your GP's or they are uncooperative members use private testing labs.
To get everything done in one test you can order a Thriva 'Comprehensive Thyroid Test' that includes thyroid hormones, antibodies & iron, nutrients mentioned above. This test costs £79.00 but there is £15 off using the code THYROIDUK making it £64.00.
Otherwise Monitor My Health does a basic thyroid test for £29.00 with a 10% discount using the code THYROIDUK10 making it £26.10
There are other options in the links below. Many members find when optimal thyroid hormone replacement meds are found many other conditions resolve themselves as the body starts to heal itself to find well-being.
It can appear both difficult & scary conducting ones own tests but there are fingerpick options making them further accessable and members will comment on results.
Lichen planus and lichen sclerosis are both autoimmune
Having one autoimmune disease increases chances of having another
And just like autoimmune thyroid disease (hashimoto’s) they both frequently improve on absolutely strictly gluten free diet
But get coeliac blood test done BEFORE cutting gluten out
Aim of levothyroxine is to increase the dose slowly upwards in 25mcg steps until TSH is ALWAYS under 2. Most important results are always Ft3 followed by Ft4. Aiming for both at least 50% through range…..and regularly retest and maintain OPTIMAL vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
I’m taking 125mcg last blood test she didn’t want to give me it was 4.3 I told her I think I’m under medicated but she doesn’t want to change the dosage she said she seems to think that it was the biotin I was taking in my vitamin that is making it high I told her I don’t feel well I went for a biopsy on last Friday and they didn’t do the biopsy because the ultrasound that they took indicated that the nodules got smaller which is good but I still feel like crap and now this thing in my private area it’s got me scared
I have Lichen Scleroses in my vagina for a very ling time the labia on both sides has gone now , your gp must send you to a specialist for a biopsy to confirm , and regular checks are a must to observe the state of your skin
3 years ago my mouth erupted and l have Lichen planus in my mouth - awful
another biopsy to determine
I have Hashimoto’s , dont be fobbed off my your gp you need a specialist for both diagnosis and prescribed treatment which is normally Dermovate for vagina and Steriods dissolvable tablets for mouth x
Quick question did you have a change of skin colour?
Gp's are so difficult to deal with now basically I have a patch that has gone a darker brownish colour. Had a telephone apt with advanced practitioner and they weren't too sure so they checked with the GP and I had a text today to say I do need to call to make a GP appointment to get this checked. I have been a bit more itchy too!!
So awkward! But I was diagnosed with an overactive thyroid last year so maybe completely different issue
It’s not turned colors but it has moved to where my thigh meets my groin and it looks and feels like a laceration I had it once and it went away and now it’s back
Hi mine started as very itchy tiny spots very red and sore because l scratched this went on for a while and gp kept saying it was thrush , my skin was a mess bleeding where it split l was a mess could only pee standing in the bath with shower on to stop the pain Finally mature female locum had a good look snd saw it was patchy white in places and l was referred straight away to gyni not a dermatologist gyni used a camera to do biopsy
Then confirmed it is LS it’s definitely starts off with white patches then when l check myself it is very red , l know when l am starting an episode there’s a tingle and slight pain , sometimes l have to use the steriod 3 times a day sorry
I will be blunt but it can become cancerous
That’s why you must be checked at least annually with a camera and visually x
My sister has lichen Scleroses & tried many prescription medications without any benefit. Recently a specialist recommended she massage the area with olive oil several times a day & she now reports this is the best thing she has used so far to alleviate symptoms.
I get what I can only describe as long paper cuts. Very sore. I have found the best treatment to be Sudacrem . Soothes it and helps to keep it at bay. Never seen or spoken to a doctor about it .
