I can't believe
Pixipot,
Hyperactivity in kids means high energy sometimes difficult to regulate, matched with consistently elevated cortisol levels.
The body compensates as we develop into adulthood and learn ways of managing our hyperactivity but if adrenals have now accumulated the added stresses of ongoing health conditions, the will eventually wear down until we feel 'done in'. π©πͺπ΄
Adrenals are robust and will improve again given the right cofactors that are constantly quoted within the forum (optimising iron, nutrients, working thyroid hormone). Also having cortisol levels tested allows us to use effective adaptogens that encourage a better circadian pattern, and having electrolytes tested can be useful as allows us to add in extra salt, large amounts of Vitamin C, etc.
When I was first diagnosed last year I was 42 going on 82! A year on I'm more 42 feeling 62...
