Not strictly thyroid but given that so many of us have other conditions that go with our thyroid problems I thought this would be relevant
The Welsh Government have produced a consultation document and are inviting responses. If you live in Wales please respond to the survey. I don't know if the other nations of UK are doing anything similar. I found it on the health board minutes.
If you belong to other relevant groups on Health unlocked can you please share.
many thanks

Done. It took a while! As most of these things are, it is all glossy and shiny, with lots of probably very good aims, including the old "self knowledge for patients" which is fine until you show the GP that you have some idea of what is going on. I have arthritis, dupuytrens and Ledderhose disease (all autoimmune conditions) and the GPs have just said "oh, we cannot do anything for that". No signposting further help at all.
Many cases of MSL could be helped with knowing you have sufficient Vit D. Wales does not do Vit D tests now. Such a simple thing!
Much is also made of "local" help, but the nearest consultant can be over 50 miles away, and no public transport.
Someone has been paid to do this survey, probably many people. I have a feeling they will glance through the results and the whole thing will be left on a shelf gathering dust. But I did it anyway.
My thoughts exactly serenfach that it's lip service. I intend to write to the Welsh Health Minister and the First Minister with my experiences. I am still waiting for an outcome of my complaint from the Health Board from December.I have just been told by GP practice that they no longer do ear syringing. You have to go to a private provider and a friend told me that it is the same with BP checks. Both medical interventions with consequences.
Your right about Vit. D. The labs decide whether you need a vitamin D test even though it was checks for bone health and requested by GP.
