Can someone please help me interpret my ultrasound results?

Thank you all for your wonderful support and getting me on the right road to recovery. I'm certainly getting there now.

I'm currently on 2 grains NP thyroid. Due another blood test in two weeks (which will mark 6 weeks since I increased to 2 grains).

I have had my TPO and TGab checked on multiple occasions, never once showing high antibodies. Thanks to advice from the forum, I was encouraged to get a thryoid ultrasound to check. I had the scan and got my results back. My doctor emailed me to say 'Nothing to worry about'. I asked for a copy of the results but it's very hard to know what they mean (if only they would interpret them into plain English!)

This is the report:

Thyroid gland is of normal size but there is patchy altered echo texture with areas of mildly reduced echogenicity predominantly located anteriorly within all left and right lobes.

There is vascular flow within these areas but not noticeably increased. No macrocalcifications.

No signs of local lymphadenopathy.

Overall, is nonspecific appearances favour a thyroiditis pattern.

Can anyone please help me interpret what they mean?

This last statement implies autoimmune thyroid disease?

Thanks for your reply SlowDragon. I wasn’t sure if that’s what it meant or not. I’m a little confused.

For my next blood test I’ll get the antibodies tested again to see if anything comes up.

Thanks SD, that’s what lead me to getting the scan. Thanks for your advice.
