I am due to have bloods done.
I take both my Levo and T3 at around 7.30am . My blood test will be around 10am . How do I adjust to get the best results? Thankyou.

On the day before the test you split your T3 into 2 or 3 doses.
Take the first dose of T3 with your Levo 24 hours before the time of your test.
Take your last dose of T3 8-12 hours before your test.
Best to do your test no later than 9am so see if you can do the test at that time rather than 10am then on the day before you should delay your 7.30am dose of Levo plus first dose of T3 until 9am. Last dose of T3 should be between 9pm and midnight or 1am.
Best to have water only before test so delay breakfast and coffee until after the test.
No B Complex or Biotin supplement for 7 days before the test.
Thankyou SeasideSusie. I knew there was a particular timescale but didn’t know what it was. I will also make sure I have the test done earlier.Thankyou
Hi Seaside SusieWhat is the reason behind only water before the test please?

Certain foods can affect TSH by lowering the level and caffeine containing drinks can also affect TSH. If we are looking for a diagnosis of hypothyroidism, looking for an increase in dose of Levo or to avoid a reduction in dose then we need the highest possible TSH which a fasting test will give:
