It’s been a while since I posted which I guess is a good thing as I’ve been very settled!
But now I’ve gone and moved house so I have a new GP and a new pharmacy
I’ve noticed water retention (mainly in my legs) over the last couple of months that is getting worse! The only thing that has changed is that 100mcg of my 150mcg levo dose is now Teva. I feel fine in myself, my TSH was 0.02 when my new GP tested it (that always seems about right for me to feel well and usually puts my T3 in the mid-range) but said GP is phoning me next week to discuss my dose as they presumably think that’s over-medicated 😐
So really my questions are ‘is it Teva causing the water retention or could being over medicated cause this?’
My average resting heart rate used to sit around 54 to 55 but has crept up slightly to an average of 58. I am a bit more achy which would usually make me think I need a dose increase but could just be the extra water.
So a few years on and my thyroid still baffles me - any advice gratefully received! Thanks so much! 🙏🏻

It might be the Teva - worth seeing if you can get something else next time - but please don't accept a reduction in your meds on the basis of TSH alone - remember you are ONLY over-medicated if free T3 is over-range - and it doesn't look as if this has been tested - or even free T4.
So it might be worth asking the new GP if they can do FULL testing for you - TSH, free T4, free T3, thyroid antibodies and key nutrients - ferritin, folate, vit D and B12 - so you can see where you are. I've had some success with my GP by saying that these are the tests recommended by Thyroid UK. Good luck x
Thank you! I will see if I can get a different brand next time and hope that does the trick!
Yes they have just re-tested ferritin, folate, B12 and Vit D and they haven’t altered my prescription for those so that’s something!
I’ve never managed to get anything other than TSH and FT4 tested by my GP - but whenever I have done medichecks panel my FT3 is right in the middle of the range (but to get it there my FT4 is aways over range).
I just hate when something goes slightly off (in this case my gigantic ballooned legs😃) and then the battle to work out what is causing it! X
